Tony Smith - Freelance Researcher and Writer
I am an established freelance researcher and writer, based in Norwich, with a special interest in Victorian social history and technology, and early telecommunications history. I was a senior hospital administrator when I began writing and my early work was mostly concerned with hospital and health service subjects. I have written hundreds of articles on many subjects for over 40 years. They have been published in the UK, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Also, in translation, in Hungary, Russia, Holland, and France; and in the international edition of the UNESCO Courier. As a licensed amateur radio operator, I have written many articles in specialist radio publications, some technical but more often from an historical point of view. I have a book currently in preparation, titled "When Dots And Dashes Ran Our Railways".
